Sickness in the Whipple house

Right now all 3 Whipple girls are sick. We have a touch of Bronchitis. Lexi is the worse and needed antibiotics, but we are all hanging in there.

Here are some cute pictures from the other night. Stickers and a pretty scarf helped cheer her up a bit.

But you can tell that she was still not feeling very well.

Allie is a big talker!

Lexi walked at 11.5 months, and her first word was at 14 months.
Allie, is 14 months, still not walking but is talking up a storm!!

In context, she is using these words:

Mama
Dada
Lexi - "DeeDee"
Papa
Bye-bye
Hi
This
Me
Bubble - "Bubo"
Please - "peeeee"
with her arm stretched out (usually asking for something from Lexi)
More - "mo mo mo mo"
Thank You - "Day Do"
Ball
Doggy, and will even bark
Kitty - "key key"
Baby

If you tell her its bath time, she will crawl into the bathroom.
If you tell her its bedtime, she will crawl into her bedroom and stands up by her crib.
If you tell her to wake up Lexi, she will find which room she is in, and will go and lay on top of her.

Her comprehension is amazing. You can pretty much tell what she wants by watching her. There is not much of a guessing game with her... if she needs something, she will figure out a way to communicate it to you. She also will try to repeat words after you.

Exactly what we needed, another girl that likes to talk! ;)

Kid's Say the Darnest things

Here are just a few things that come out of Lexi's mouth on a daily basis:

Allie: "Baba-lu-sh-dado"
Lexi: "No Allie, its not Baba-lu-sh-dado, its my chair." (And she says it with so much frustration.)

Mommy: "Lexi, what would you like for lunch?"
Lexi: "A burrito would make me so happy!"

Mommy: "Lexi, you need to come clean up please."
Lexi yells: "NO THANKS MAMA!" (At least she uses her manners)

After drinking hot chocolate...
Mommy: "Is that yummy in your tummy?"
Lexi: "No, its yummy in my boobies" (Still learning her anatomy I suppose)

Mommy: "Lexi, where did you get all of this energy?"
Lexi: "My bed."
Mommy: "Your bed gave you energy?"
Lexi: "Yes, it was an accident."

Mommy: "Well, I guess I should get dressed."
Lexi: "NO!!! I dont want you to."
Mommy: "You dont want me to get dressed?
Lexi: "No! Stay in your jammies!" (Tough to argue with that!)

Every day is funnier than the previous day. She is quick witted and so funny. I think this kid will be in performing arts in the future. She acts out movies, sings along to every song, loves to dress up and is not shy at all. She is a funny kid!

Happy Valentines Day

At our Mommy and Me Preschool, we had a Valentines Party. It was so much fun. The kids got to decorate cookies and then we exchanged valentine cards with all of our friends!

Yummy sucker!

Allie was pooped at the end of that party, too much sugar and fun for her

Even though she wouldn't admit it, Lexi was pretty tired too!

This girl loves her soup!

Allie had a blast in her soup!

I dont know how this happened!

Then the Cleaning Fairy, Princess Lexi came to help Allie.

Jammie Time

After bathtime, the girls are silly and fun!

Our little Vampire

Allie got her first 2 teeth!!!

Since there is a big Vampire trend going on right now, Allie thought that she would keep up with the trend and cut her first 2 teeth, vampire style!

Excuse the food... this was the only time she would let me touch her mouth.

A beautiful view

Southern California isn't the most beautiful place.... mostly because we have a lovely layer of smog in the air. However, there are certain times of the year that our view is BEAUTIFUL!!! There is a mountain range behind our house and when it snows, the view is breathtaking!

This was taken from the couch in our living room!

Norther California Visit

We got to fly up to see Grammy and Papa. (Usually we drive)

This was Allie's first flight, and the first flight that Lexi remembers (she has been on several flights, but mostly as a baby)

In the airport, walking to our gate
(Sorry, just a little blurry)

Waiting for the plane...

Getting ready to get on the plane

Enjoying a few snacks along the way

The sunset was so bright that Lexi needed her sunglasses

Our friends Lauren and Emily came to visit us at Grammy and Papa's house.

These 2 are birthday buddies. Both born on Dec. 5th 2008

I got sick on this trip so I wasn't able to take too many pictures. Grammy and Papa cleaned out their attic and found all the dresses that Grammy made for Heather and I 20 years ago. Lexi and her cousin Caroline played dress up and it was such a fun walk down memory lane.
